🚚 How We Ship

All orders are dispatched through Royal Mail, chosen for their reliability, nationwide reach, and the simple joy of seeing that little red van pull up with something magical inside.

We ship from the UK and currently deliver to UK addresses only.

📦 Processing Time

We aim to dispatch all orders within 2–3 working days.
During busy periods, dispatch may take a little longer, but we’ll always keep you updated.

📚 Packaging

Your books are wrapped with care using recyclable or reused packaging wherever possible.
Second‑hand books deserve second‑hand packaging - it’s kinder to the planet and keeps the charm alive.

💌 Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:

  • The weight of your order

  • Your chosen Royal Mail service

We don’t add handling fees, just the postage cost itself.

📬 If Your Order Is Delayed

Royal Mail considers a parcel delayed if:

  • 1st Class: not delivered within 10 working days

  • 2nd Class: not delivered within 10 working days

  • Tracked services: delayed beyond the expected delivery window

If your parcel hasn’t arrived after these timeframes, contact us and we’ll investigate.

Lost or Damaged Parcels

If your parcel arrives damaged or doesn’t arrive at all, please let us know. We’ll work with Royal Mail to resolve the issue and make things right.

📚 Returns & Refunds

🕰️ Returns Window

We accept returns within 14 days of purchase. To be eligible, you’ll need to provide proof of purchase.

📖 Condition of Returned Items

As a second‑hand bookshop, every book has its own quirks, history, and imperfections. Because of this, we can only accept returns if:

  • The book is in the same condition as when it was sold

  • Any unique markings, wear, or defects noted at the time of purchase are unchanged

  • The book has not been exposed to damage after purchase (e.g. water, smoke, pets)

We cannot accept returns for general wear that was already present and described at the point of sale.

💷 Refunds

If your return is approved:

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method

  • Please allow 3–5 working days for processing

  • Postage costs are non‑refundable, unless the item was incorrectly described or sent in error

📦 Online Orders

If returning by post:

  • You are responsible for return postage costs unless the item was faulty or misdescribed

  • We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot refund items lost in transit

  • Refunds are processed once the book has been received and inspected

📝 Incorrect or Misdescribed Items

If we’ve made a mistake, sent the wrong book, or missed a significant flaw - please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We’ll put it right with:
